I have had car insurance with you for many years and was pleased years ago to be offered a complimentary break down cover at no cost. I have just realised that I have actually paid almost £50.00 for at least three years for breakdown cover that has been discretely added into the cost of my insurance. I have never asked for the cover and have never agreed to pay for the cover. I have not used it. When having my renewal notices each year I trust that I can ‘do nothing’ as your notices say. I do not expect to have extras added to my policy without my knowledge. I would like a refund on the money I have paid for a service I never bought. I’ve just had my renewal for my car insurance from Churchill,I’ve been with them for 20 plus years so expect a bit of loyalty appreciation from them, no chance. I changed my car 22/09/17, renewal is 10/11/17, last years price on amended details was £485-10, this year £594-72, some rise, legal assistance and hire car plus have gone up 50 pence and 36 pence, protected no claim discount has gone from £33-00 to £66-08 over 100% but no reasonable answer, on line the same thing is just over £28-00,no answer to that either. Lovely pleasant staff but avoiding an honest answer, no way to keep customers, not one claim in all my years with them time to move on, so much for customer care, unless it’s my age and they are frightened of saying it, be warned.

I am joint policy holder.

I telephoned Churchill insurance on 24/08/2020 at around 11.00 am the call centre took all relevant details said they would put me through to manager. Left on telephone half an hour no response. 24 hours later still no response. 25/-8/2020 telephoned answered by Roger left on telephone again for 30 minutes still no outcome to my problem. Telephone again call taken by Lorraine tranferred to management still no response.
Is this professional customer service, they have taken all my details and within 24 hours are still unable to address my problem, People are still skilled in speaking even if Corona Virus staff shortage. I suggest the management give call centre staff a new customer service script. Take details then call customer back still waiting for response. Pensioner who uses telephone and emails.

I telephoned Churchill on Friday 23rd to register my dis-satisfaction with what had occurred with my Breakdown Cover on a recent holiday. My car burst a tyre ( split side wall,) in the middle of nowhere on very narrow roads, and Green Flag refused to attend so I had to drive almost a mile to a place of safety on a flat tyre . They said I only had cover for my other vehicle a Ford Transit camper Policy number 59176215, for which I had paid £114.24!!! I thought that was cover for both cars. When I took this out I said I wanted both vehicles covered and was told not to worry about that as it was the driver who is insured not the vehicle so I did not pursue it. On Friday last when I called, I insisted I be put through to a manager who I spoke to at length and she was going to listen to the original phone call to clarify the matter and call me back. I have heard nothing since !!How long should it take to receive a reply?
