Direct Line once paid out over £6,000 to my ex-wife when my car was stolen, AFTER it had been recovered!
The fact that I owned the car seemed irrelevant to them. They then tried to repossess my car, claiming I owed them the money and they owned the car. It took almost two years before they finally admitted their mistake.
I still don’t know if they ever got their money back, though I seriously doubt it!
